Quarter-turn valves

   Quarter-turn valves can be used in either an off/on manner, or in a variable position / throttling manner. By definition, a control valve automatically varies the rate of flow based on signals it receives from sensing devices in a continuous process. It functions as a component in an overall work system. Most quarter-turn valves can be used as control valves with the addition of power actuators, positioners, and other accessories.

   Isolation valves may be used in applications where complete separation of fluids within a system are necessary, where an element of a fluid circuit requires isolation for maintenance or repair, or where valve element isolation from the controlled media is required to avoid corrosion of the valve, or contamination of the media.

   Quarter-turn valves are commonly used for general-purpose applications and where lighter duty, lower maintenance, and larger line sizes are appropriate. They are economical, easy to install and apply; providing continued savings throughout their operating lives.

   There are three types of quarter-turn valves available:
